When you use KOJ Learn, we collect: Account information (name, email address, profile photo) provided during registration via Clerk authentication. Usage data including courses enrolled in, lessons completed, exam scores, and certificates earned. Payment information processed securely through Paystack — we do not store card details. Content you upload to the marketplace. Messages and feedback submitted through platform forms. Push notification subscription tokens if you opt in to notifications. Device and browser information for platform functionality.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide and improve the platform experience, process payments and issue certificates, personalise course recommendations, send transactional emails (enrollment confirmations, certificate notifications, live session reminders), deliver push notifications if you have opted in, provide AI tutor (James) responses via Google Gemini, analyse platform usage to improve features, and comply with legal obligations.
3. AI Services & Third-Party Providers
KOJ Learn uses the following third-party services that may process your data: Clerk — authentication and user management. Supabase — database and file storage. Paystack — payment processing (Nigerian). Bunny CDN & Bunny Stream — video delivery and file storage. Google Gemini — AI mentor (James) and AI Prompt Generator. Groq — AI processing for specific platform features. Resend — transactional email delivery. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication via Clerk, and access controls. Payment data is handled entirely by Paystack and is never stored on our servers. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting hello@kojstudios.com.
5. AI-Generated Content & Privacy
When you use the KOJ Mentor (James) or AI Prompt Generator, your queries and uploaded images are processed by Google Gemini. These interactions may be used to improve AI services subject to Google's privacy policy. We do not store AI conversation history beyond the current session. Do not share sensitive personal information in AI tutor conversations.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
KOJ Learn uses cookies and local storage for: maintaining your login session, remembering your preferences, and platform analytics. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect platform functionality.
7. Push Notifications
If you enable push notifications in Settings, we store your device subscription token in your user profile. This token is used only to deliver platform notifications (new courses, live sessions, announcements). You can disable notifications at any time in Settings.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data via your profile settings, request deletion of your account and data, withdraw consent for push notifications at any time, and opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link. 9. Children's Privacy
KOJ Learn is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Wallet & KOJ Credits
KOJ Learn maintains a two-balance wallet system comprising your real funded balance and KOJ Credits (promotional credits). We store both balances and your full transaction history to facilitate purchases, resolve disputes, and maintain platform integrity. Transaction records distinguish between real-money and credit transactions for accurate accounting. KOJ Credits are non-withdrawable and exist solely for platform use on eligible services. Wallet and transaction data is never shared with third parties except where required for payment processing via Paystack. Transaction records are retained indefinitely for audit and dispute resolution purposes.
12. AI-Generated Content & Third-Party AI
KOJ Learn uses AI services (Google Gemini and Groq/LLaMA) to generate lesson summaries, quiz questions, and course recommendations. Lesson content may be sent to these third-party AI providers for processing. We do not send personally identifiable information to AI providers beyond what is necessary for content generation. AI-generated content is stored on our platform.
13. Certificates & Public Verification
Certificate data including your name, course title, score, and issue date is stored permanently and made publicly verifiable via your unique certificate code. This data is intentionally public to enable employer and institutional verification. Certificate codes cannot be deleted once issued.
14. Live Sessions & Community
Participation in live sessions may be recorded for educational replay purposes. Recordings are stored on Bunny Stream and accessible to enrolled students. Your username and profile information may be visible to other participants during live sessions.
